I’ve been meaning to make this for the longest time, and I finally got around to it today. I found a base recipe on Free People’s blog, and then tweaked it a bit.

I used an empty sea salt spray bottle, because it’s a pretty blue glass that deserves to be recycled into a new life. I cleaned the bottle and spray nozzle, and removed the label. Then added some filtered water, Witch Hazel and essential oils.

I ordered my essential oils from Eden’s Garden on Amazon, and there are so many different brands and carriers, so they are easy to find. I know doTERRA and Young Living are both supposed to be really amazing.

The Witch Hazel and essential oils are naturally antibacterial. You can also use white vinegar, but I think Witch Hazel smells a lot better and still gets things clean.

I played around with the oils until I got a good combination and scent. It ended up being about 3 drops of lavender, 3 drops of lemongrass and 4 drops of peppermint. It smells super fresh and was just what my old yoga mat needed. It smells way more zen now, and way less disgusting.

Have you ever made any natural cleaning products? Or do you use essential oils?
