EVER SKINCARE: BEFORE AND AFTER

Posted on Jan 23, 2018 in BEAUTY, STYLE

If you’ve known me for any length of time, you know that I really love skincare. I’ve written about skincare several times on this blog, which you can browse for here. In the past 5 years or so, I’ve been trying to clean up my products and choose more natural options. The problem with that is that these products are often really gentle and awesome, but don’t show results. I love Lush products, as well as a slew of other natural lines, but as I get a little older, I was feeling like I needed something that packed a little more of a punch without having a scary list of ingredients. Trust me, it’s not as easy as it sounds.

,As a Stella & Dot Stylist, I’ve known about our sister company, Ever, but hadn’t had a chance to try it yet. I had a bunch of random products I was trying to use up, even though I didn’t love them, and I needed to plan for the purchase financially (it’s not super cheap, guys). But around Black Friday, they had a discount, so I splurged and told myself “Let’s see what happens.”

Some things to know about Ever

Ever’s thing is that they have products that are good for you and your skin, but still show up with results. Their power ingredient is something called LSR10, which is derived from the Magnolia flower and according to their website is “a botanically derived, bioactive complex that delivers smoother, brighter, more lifted-looking skin.” They say that 100% of users saw an improvement in their skin after 4 weeks of use. That’s pretty good odds, I’d say.

Ever also has a long list of ingredients that they never include in their products, most of which are banned in other countries but not in the United States.

So yeah, I am intrigued by all of this. Plus, I felt like my skin was on a downward spiral. I’ve never had what you’d call “bad” skin. I don’t breakout that much, except during my period, and my biggest concerns (which you can note when you take your skincare quiz on their website!) are redness, dry skin, and dark circles. And for a while, I’d been waking up with VERY red skin, and it just felt super sensitive. Not a fun time.

And just to be clear, I believe that our skin can be healed from the inside-out. If I’m eating crap and not drinking enough water, of course my skin is going to show that. However, it doesn’t hurt to have some topical options to help with that.

I was SO PUMPED to get my kit in the mail. It was like Christmas came early, and I couldn’t wait to try it all. The full kit comes with 5 products that will be customized to your skin based on your quiz results.

My Regimen

Rebalance Cleanser

This cleanser is a foaming face wash, so keep that in mind. Right now, I’m feeling like I need to switch to the Luminous Cleansing Balm for a little more moisture, but this cleanser really makes my face feel super clean. It also really helped balance everything out, as the name suggests.

Reveal Peel Pads

Everyone gets these in their kit, and I recommend you start slow. I LOVE them, but I try to just use them every other night. On other days, I use a Clarisonic with the cleanser for exfoliation. These are gentle peeling pads, but they still pack a punch.

Youthful Face & Eye Serum

I love this serum, because it feels awesome but not too greasy. On days I don’t use the Reveal pads, I spritz on some homemade toner water to my face first. This helps the serum soak into my skin better than applying it to dry skin.

Hydralift Oil-Free Moisture Gel

This right here was my favorite product. The regimen says to use this at night, but I used it in the morning, too, before makeup. I need a lot of moisture, so I’m considering getting the regular version of this next time, rather than the oil-free version. I image they suggested the oil-free for me because I said my skin has been sensitive, but I think I need the extra moisture.

Daylight Tinted Moisturizer

This is an awesome tinted moisturizer that has SPF in it, as well. It doesn’t feel heavy at all and doesn’t have that sunscreen feeling that some moisturizers do. It evens out my skin tone just enough without looking or feeling like I’m wearing makeup.

They suggest that you use the full regimen every single day for 30 days, and at this point, I’ve been using it for nearly 60 and I still have plenty of cleanser, peel pads, and tinted moisturizer. The serum and moisturizers are long gone, so I’m going to replace those this week.

My Results

But I know why you’re really here — you want to see my results! Everyone loves a good before-and-after, right?

This was after exactly 30 days of use, and both of these were taken as soon as I woke up. As you can see from the photos on the left, I woke up with a really red face. It looks like I  just went for a run or something, but no, that’s just my face. I clearly needed some under-eye help, too. The photos on the right are as soon as I woke up on Day 30. You can even see a line on my face from my pillow. Ha! My under-eye area is still dark, but that is probably how it will always be for me. I am using the Ever Concealer and Treatment now, and it works wonders to cover up the darkness under my eyes.

Overall, I am super impressed by these products, and I feel like my skin is in a much better place. (Although, as I write this, I have two period-zits that are finally healing. Thanks, ovaries.) My skin is still a little red when I wash it or exfoliate, obviously, but that’s normal, and it doesn’t feel irritated. My skin feels smooth and clear, and aside from my under-eye area, I feel like I could go makeup-less a lot more. If you’re looking for something new to try that is safe for your skin and body, I’d recommend this line for sure. I feel like my skin is more consistently clear and smooth each day, and it doesn’t feel stripped or irritated in the process. I love great skincare products, so I’m sure I’ll try other things here and there, but I think this might be permanent additions to my rotation.
