My most recent Influenster box included several Ole Henriksen skincare products to try out, and I must say, I was pumped. Sometimes, the Influenster boxes can be a little lackluster, but these high-end products were a pleasant surprise.
The four products I received were the trial sizes, and are approximately $60 worth of products to try out for free. If I were to purchase the full-size versions of these products, it would cost closer to $200, so these are definitely some quality products.
I have been using the moisturizer morning and night for a couple of weeks, and my skin has responded well. The Sheer Transformation moisturizer is good for all skin-types and boasts to be the perfect product for pre-makeup application. It is supposed to help with dryness, dark spots, and uneven texture or skin tone. The lightweight formula sinks in beautifully and doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy, but still supple and bright. Plus, it’s vegan. The scent of this product is pretty light, which is nice, and doesn’t smell too floral or strong. However, when combined with the Truth Serum I also received, the two products create sort of an odd smell together. It’s not anything that can’t be ignored, but in keeping to an honest review, it’s just something I noticed.
The Truth Serum Vitamin C Collagen Booster is a very interesting product itself. It comes in a pump bottle, and is more of a gel consistency than a serum, I found. This product is also for any type of skin, and is supposed to help with fine lines and wrinkles, as well as uneven skin tone and elasticity. I can say that this product definitely fulfilled those claims. While I don’t have that many wrinkles to fill in at this point in my life, I definitely noticed a bounciness to my skin when I use this. It is an almost instant effect, which I never say. The scent of this is quite nice, actually, with hints of citrus, and the texture can feel a little sticky, but sinks in nicely after a few minutes. I used it each night in conjunction with the moisturizer.
I also received a three-step process for an at-home facial of sorts, and saved that for a Sunday night treat. The Power Bright system comes with three little pods of product with specific instructions for each. Step one is a the Truth Sugar Glow Polishing Mask, which is a gentle scrubbing mask that you leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing off. Next, you apply the Truth 25% Vitamin C Concentrate, which is a really thick cream that you leave on for the remainder of the treatment. You leave this one for two to three minutes and then apply the final product, the Pure Truth Melting Cleanser, right on top. The package says to “expect a tingling and warming sensation” when you apply the cleanser on top of the concentrate, and that is no joke. I felt a slight burn, but nothing too uncomfortable or harsh. After rubbing these two products together on your face, you leave it on for up to 15 minutes before washing it off with the Complexion Sponges, which I think are my favorite part of this Influenster box. This three-step treatment definitely left my skin feeling and looking bright and plump. Kyle even told me “Your face looks so bouncy,” which cracked me up but also confirmed that this treatment works. My skin felt soft and moisturized for days after.
The Complexion Sponges come in a “compressed flat wafer that expands with water.” It’s basically like those little toys that look like pills but turn into animals when you put them in water, which is surprisingly satisfying. I like to gently exfoliate every day (it just feels right for my skin), and these sponges work beautifully. I have used them with my regular face washes, and I love how they scrub but aren’t too rough. The package says they can be used up to three months before needing replaced, and the package came with two sponges. These will definitely be something I purchase for myself later.
Overall, I was very pleased with these products. I have been using them pretty exclusively since receiving this box, and am definitely considering adding them into my regimen full-time. You all know I love some good skincare.
